Ugggh :(

I wrote Why Weren’t We Warned in June of this year (2026). Final editing and minor re-wording continued into July, but the song was basically written in June. I’d like to call your attention to these lines:

“What if October brings cold and wind?
What if the shortages finally begin?”

As I am writing this on September 13th, the shortages are beginning to appear. It’s not even October yet and the shortages are already beginning:

Like I said, I sincerely wish that I was wrong.

With a very heavy heart, I don’t believe that I am.

Ski Season 2026/2027?

One of the things on my mind quite often is the potential for the upcoming ski season to be cancelled or shortened due to an energy lockdown. The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (along with similar reserves in other countries) has been – and continues to be – drained at an alarming rate to the current dangerously low levels.

What happens when there isn’t any left in the SPR to drain? Well, the answer is purely math. And the math points to an energy crisis at that point.

The International Energy Agency has already published documents which offer solutions that include working from home, preventing air travel, restricting car usage to every other day, and lowering highway speed limits. Sounds like an energy crisis to me.

It’s not considered polite to currently discuss the topic in public, but behind closed doors energy lockdowns are being discussed. Some brave organizations are already publicly warning that energy lockdowns are inevitable.

In this songwriter’s opinion, it’s not a question of if, it’s a question of when. For certain there will be energy shortages this winter in the United States. Will the crisis be to such a severe degree that energy lockdowns are “mandated?”

As of now, I think the risk that lockdowns will be implemented before ski season opening day is low. I do, however think the risk that lockdowns will be implemented before the ski season ends is much greater. That already happened in 2020.

I’m hopping for one more winter of unrestricted skiing.

I Wish I was Wrong

I’m an avid skier. I’m also a building contractor and have been for decades. I understand business and economics, as both have been involved in my career. My research goes deep into global economics.

All year I’ve known what is coming. There was one day last winter when I was skiing with a friend that I felt quite overburdened. I told my friend that I felt like I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders that day. When he asked why, I explained the coming energy crisis. He respected my opinion, but he was basically in disbelief.

So over the Spring and Summer of this year, I wrote a song – my first song ever – about skiing, or more accurately the lack of skiing. The song, “First Chair” is written from a future point of view when the global energy crisis is in full swing. Energy lockdowns have been implemented, ski resorts are closed and we can only long for the days when we were free to ski.

My extensive research has led me to conclude that the world is headed into an energy crisis. With each passing day, more and more signs become visible that I am correct in my assessments and conclusion.

I sincerely wish that I am wrong.

Sadly, I don’t believe that I am. Others who are deep into the statistics see it too:

This Is A Very Big Deal

Within the past 24 hours the Houthis have attacked the major oil transport infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Satellite imagery shows the east-west pipeline having been hit in 9 different locations, and the pumping station for that pipeline having been completely destroyed.

This pipeline has been the reason that Saudi Arabia has been able to export oil since the war began. Rather than shipping it through the Strait of Hormuz, they pumped it through this pipeline to the Red Sea for export.

That alternative has just been nullified:

Saudi Arabia

Have a look at this:

It’s really not that difficult to see a global energy crisis that is currently in the making. All one has to do is be willing to look at the facts.

Energy Crisis

All of the songs on my entire album Through the Ruins are written from the perspective that an energy crisis is developing that will lead to unheard of fuel prices, rationing, and eventually an energy crisis “lockdown” similar in nature to the Covid lockdown.

Every day there are more attacks on the global energy infrastructure. Here is an article by Martin Armstrong:

Almost As If…

It’s almost as if there is a hidden hand behind the scenes that is deliberately creating an energy crisis. Nah, that couldn’t be, could it?
