BREAKING: Chevron CEO Mike Wirth says the fuel crisis oil executives warned would follow a prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz has now officially arrived, with the mechanisms that mitigated price and supply risk having "largely now played out" and the system holding nowhere…
I wrote “Why Weren’t We Warned” from the point of view of the average American. The political “leaders” (both parties) are always proclaiming that everything will be fine. The mainstream media and the politicians haven’t been telling the truth about the rapidly worsening energy crisis. The crisis is kept hidden. The lies in control.
And the average American continues to pay the price, with literally no clue as to the severity of the crisis that is about to unfold.
Why weren’t they warned?
Met up with some friends for drinks tonight.. after they left I got chatting to the bartender….
She mentioned she was really struggling with the high gas prices lately, having to commute 45 mins to 2 jobs + take her sons to hockey practice an hour away 3x per week. Her husband… https://t.co/9rcrNeC6Ec
“That East-West Pipeline was blown up last week. At least one, and perhaps two pumping stations along that pipeline, were completely destroyed, causing Saudi Arabia to shut it down, and thereby shut down up to 7 million barrels of oil, as well as some natural gas, per day.”
Early in the fist verse of my song, “Why Weren’t We Warned” you’ll find these two lines:
“Like Venezuela, just a few short days, The President smiled, as missiles blaze”
That was the official story at the start of the war. Here’s a clip:
And the war went beyond his statement that it would be over in just a few short weeks.
The goalposts were moved from just a couple of weeks to “over in mid summer.” Remember him claiming that Iran was begging for a deal? Was that really true?
“But the truth was kept hidden, The lies in control. The crisis kept building”
Here’s a post on x.com from today that revisits what was said this this summer when the “news kept talking about a deal” (a line from verse 2) and the President, his top advisors and all the mainstream media were talking about an “Oil glut“:
And now, here we are in the second week of September and the goalposts have been moved again. The President is currently saying that the Iran war will end after the election and gas prices will come down then:
Anyone want to bet that after the election, the goalposts will be moved again?
Yesterday I published a blog post that highlighted the fact that Costco has begun to limit motor oil sales. Customers will be limited to 2 quarts per week.
You might be thinking “So what?” Followed by “I’ll buy 2 quarts this week, 2 the week after, and 2 the week after that. Then I’ll have enough for an oil change.”
While that thought process on its face is accurate, it misses the point:
Many comments from people "yeah but I only change oil every 5000 to 6000 miles". That is not the point. The point is that Costco via Kirkland, has a high resolution view of all supply chains relevant to Costco.
That perspective has resulted in them enacting rationing; that means… https://t.co/YSKnYYT8P3
Just a little reminder of where prices are headed. Martin Armstrong, who has an excellent track record that he credits to the financial forecasting ability of the AI of his own creation, has stated that his “base case” (not worst-case!) for the oil price in 2027 is $200 per barrel before the end of the year.
That equates to $8.00 or more per gallon for the retail price of gasoline.
Don’t panic. It gets worse.
I believe the oil price next year will at minimum test the inflation-adjusted all time high:
WTI oil hit ATH of 147.27$ on the 11th of July 2008
Adjusted for the official inflation, not the much higher real one, WTI would have to hit 224$ to mark a new inflation adjusted ATH
