Behold the Warnings

I wrote Behold the Warnings not only to call attention to a few people that I know that have consistently issuing the warnings, but even more so the let the general public know that the warnings are even there and actually exist.

Which one do you think will get more attention, early season NFL or warning like this?

Hollow Promises

I wrote Hollow Promises to call attention to how empty the promises that come from officialdom are. Yesterday the monthly jobs report was issued. “Strong Economy” was the headline call.

We’re promised a strong economy.

Just another hollow promise.

This explains it well:

I thought about it a lot…

My album tells a story. I didn’t write these songs in an attempt to create a best-seller, nor even for meager commercial success. I wrote these songs from my heart.

So what did I think about a lot? Well, it was whether or not to even to include the song “When the Fields Went Quiet“. That’s a very desperate song. Most people don’t want to even hear about the possibility, much less focus on it and seriously contemplate the ramifications.

My album would be less heavy if I had left that song out.

But a diesel crisis is developing NOW. Based upon continued actions and current manifestations, the crisis will get much worse. What happens when farmers cannot get diesel for their tractors? What happens when fertilizer is unavailable? Those are gravely serious questions that policy-makers should be addressing right now, rather than glossing them over and pretending all is well.

So, despite the heaviness and despair, despite the likelihood that the song will repel listeners, I kept it in the album.

I want to share the truth, even the unpopular truth.

Big day today.

After months of effort, word construction, editing, more editing, and doing all the difficult tasks associated with making a song that communicates exactly the way that I intend it to, I have made it to the point of releasing my fist album, Through the Ruins. You can read all about it and listen at Bancamp.com. I will also be creating a page on this site that goes into further detail about the album.

I am not a musician. I am a songwriter. Others (under my direction and supervision) have created the music for my words.

If you resonate with any of the songs, just drop me a note. I would be very happy to hear your thoughts.
